What is Ayahuasca?

The term “Ayahuasca” (in Colombia commonly known as Yagé) denotes a tea-like brew traditionally used by shamans in the jungle of Amazon-basin in countries such as Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil.

This brew, often referred to as medicine, is now used across the world and helps you to enter an altered state of consciousness. The brew is made from the ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi) vine, in combination with a leaf called chacruna (Psychotria viridis), both naturally found in the Amazon.

While experts debate the details of the chemistry, essentially the chacruna is the main DMT source with the Ayahuasca vine acting as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). In other words, Ayahuasca allows the DMT from the chacruna to enter the bloodstream without being digested by stomach chemicals, which would occur otherwise.

DMT is a chemical that occurs naturally in the brain and body and is associated with dreaming and the visions that accompany near-death experiences (it's present in almost all plants and animals). Because of this divinatory potential, Ayahuasca is classed as a plant entheogen (a substance that allows discovery of God within).

Historically in indigenous tribes, Ayahuasca was used for a variety of reasons such as to treat illnesses, cleanse the body of parasites, locate lost items, find the best hunting ground or to resolve personal disputes.

Now in more modern times, both in tribes in the Amazon, and across the world, the medicine is used to help you heal traumas and illnesses, discover their passion and purpose in life, and live the life of their dreams.

What is Kambo?

Kambo is a traditional healing ritual performed in many South American indigenous communities and is now used across the world to help people heal a variety of illnesses and diseases, as well as to help detoxify and fully restore a healthy person's body.

The 1st layer of a person's skin is burnt on the shoulder, leg, or foot, and then the Kambo secretion is applied. The ceremony is a powerful and intense detox lasting around 20 to 30 minutes. It's important that you haven’t eaten any food or drank anything other than water for 6 hours before the ceremony.

It’s a substance that the giant monkey frog secretes. People sometimes refer to this animal as the giant leaf frog. Its scientific name is Phyllomedusa bicolor. The giant monkey frog is native to the Amazon rainforest. People in many cultures revere giant monkey frogs for their healing abilities.

Before any ceremony we'll be sure to go into much more detail and information on the entire process.
